Senior Application Developer / Manager
Contribute to the development, implementation and support of applications that drive an e-Media's online business. The senior application developer manager will work closely with the product development team and business users to deliver quality applications. In addition to managerial responsibilities, this position requires strong MS .Net, MS SQL Server skills and experience with web content management systems, e-commerce, and web services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and develop applications that support company’s Media’s web sites, web applications and online businesses. Contribute to the implementation and support of applications and systems. Contribute to application architecture. Contribute to performance tuning and optimization of application code. Assist with testing and QA. Ensure that applications meet business requirements. Work closely with the product development, design and production departments. Conduct code reviews and ensure code is properly implemented. Develop documentation. Manage and coordinate application development projects and provide project status & time estimate reports to upper management. Manage and coordinate local developers and remote/off-shore development teams. There are two web development team leads that report directly to this position.
Requirements:
7 - 9 years of technology experience and related progressive management experience.
Strong management and leadership experience, proven ability to motivate a team.
Understand project management methodologies and tools and have a strong knowledge of applicable business areas, the supporting technology architecture, and applicable processes.
Strong ASP/.NET, ASP/NET 2.0, & .NET Framework skills.
Strong MS SQL Server (T-SQL, Stored Procs, DTS a plus).
Strong XML, HTML; Good CSS skills a plus. Strong Application design skills, object modeling skills a plus.
Good web services, SOAP and related APIs skills.
Good skills in building, managing, enhancing web content management systems.
Experience in Quantum Art’s QP7 a strong plus
Good skills in developing and supporting e-commerce & payment processing web sites.
Experience in .NET/Nuke a plus.
JavaScript & Flash experience is a plus.
PHP & MySQL experience a plus.
Familiarity with open source web technologies and frameworks is a plus.
Ability to operate in Windows environment is a requirement; Linux is a plus.
Knowledge of Internet-related systems & protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, etc).
Experience in performance/optimization techniques.
Experience in application security best practices.
Good communication & organizational skills.
Excellent team player.
Ability to work in a face paced environment and multitask.
Attention to detail.
College degree or equivalent experience required.
