September BitSlingers
Monday, September 13th - 6:00PM- Panera Bread - Mason Montgomery - Mason, OH

This month BitSlingers will meet on the second Monday of the month due to the Labor Day holiday.

What is BitSlingers?

This is an informal meetup of people interested in learning from one another. Bring your laptop and pair up with someone to work on an open source project, learn a new technique, or even dabble in a new language. There is no agenda or specific topic, just a time set aside for people to pair.

The meetup officially kicks off at 6:00PM, but lasts until the last pair breaks up, or they kick us out. Feel free to come and join us for as long, or as short, of a time as you want to.

NOTE: There will be no food provided, but hey, we're at Panera.

September CinArc
Thursday, September 16th - 6:00PM - MAX Technical Training - Mason, OH

Come join this new special interest group as we discuss topics related to software architecture.

This meeting is run using an open discussion or open fishbowl technique where the attendees are encouraged to share their thoughts with everyone while keeping the meeting from becoming a free for all. :)

What topic will we cover?  Well, that's up to the attendees!

As usual, pizza will be provided at no charge thanks to our sponsors!

September CINNUG - Kill Bugs Faster using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Advanced Diagnostics (IntelliTraceTM and Test Automation) by Randy Pagels
Tuesday, September 28th - 6:00PM; Social Time - 5:30PM - MAX Technical Training - Mason, OH

Randy Pagels is a Sr. Developer Technology Specialist and part of the Developer Platform and Evangelism tools team covering the Heartland District (MI, OH, KY, TN). He will show us how to Kill Bugs Faster using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Advanced Diagnostics (IntelliTraceTM and Test Automation).

As applications become more complex and pressures to decrease costs increase, we need tools to facilitate reducing the turn-around time for testers and developers to find and fix bugs.

Microsoft Test and Lab Manager enables testers to collect more detailed diagnostic data during a test run leading to higher quality bugs that provide more insight to the developers on what actually went wrong when the bug occurred.

With the addition of Test Strips, testers can generate automation as an artifact of their test runs helping to not only increase coverage of the application, but reducing the time it takes to manually test the application.

Test Impact Analysis helps developers test the right automated tests from within Visual Studio, while testers know what the right set of tests to prioritize and run are given recent changes introduced by the development organization.

The grok talk on Jump Lists in Windows 7 will be given by one of our directors, Mike Wood.  The grok talk about the LinqPad tool will be given by one of our directors, Mike Wood.
