At our March meeting Jeff Blankenburg gave us all the cool highlights from MIX 2010.  We saw some of the new features of VS2010 and .NET Framework 4, IE9, Silverlight and Windows Phone.  You can check out some of the samples and slides from the MIX conference at http://live.visitmix.com.

What is Bitslingers?

This is an informal meetup of people interested in learning from one another. Bring your laptop and pair up with someone to work on an open source project, learn a new technique, or even dabble in a new language. There is no agenda or specific topic, just a time set aside for people to pair.

The meetup officially kicks off at 6:00PM, but lasts until the last pair breaks up, or they kick us out. Feel free to come and join us for as long, or as short, of a time as you want to.

NOTE: There will be no food provided, but hey, we're at Panera.

Come join this new special interest group as we discuss topics related to software architecture.  This meeting is run using an open discussion or open fishbowl technique where the attendees are encouraged to share their thoughts with everyone while keeping the meeting from becoming a free for all. :)  What topic will we cover?  Well, that's up to the attendees!

April CINNUG – The Open Data Protocol (OData) by Chris Woodruff
Tuesday, April 27th - 6:00PM; Social Time, 5:30PM - MAX Technical Training - Mason, OH

Chris Woodruff will be coming to give us an introduction to The Open Data Protocol (OData).  In this talk Chris will provide an introduction to this protocol, how to consume an OData service and finally how to implement an OData service on Windows using the WCF Data Services product.

Mike Wood will be giving the grok talk on why developers should care about PowerShell.

Mobile Development Firestarter
Saturday, April 24th – 9:00AM to 5:00PM – Microsoft Offices – Mason, OH

On April 24th CINNUG and the iPhone Developers User Group will host the Mobile Firestarter event.  We will spend the day covering three of the mobile platforms: Android, iPhone and Windows Mobile. 

All three platform sessions will build the same application so you can concentrate on the tools and techniques being used. 

At the end of the day you should have a good base understanding of the moving parts of the platforms, the tools used to create mobile applications and the differences between each of the platforms so you can make decisions for future projects.

This event will be hosted by CINNUG and the iPhone Developer's Group which also meets at MAX. For more information see our Special Events page.

Stir Trek:  Iron Man Edition
Friday, May 7th – 8:00AM to 6:00PM – Marcus Crosswords Theater – Columbus, OH

Stir Trek is an opportunity to learn about the newest advances in web and mobile development. There will be 20 sessions, in four tracks, so you’ll be able to pick the content that interests you the most. In addition, the day will include lunch, a raffle with some significant prizes, and a private screening of the new IronMan 2 movie, which opens in theaters the day of this event.
