  • Meeting Announcement for Oct. 2006

    Topic: Design Patterns 101

    What are design patterns? How are they helpful for developers and what problems do they solve? Come learn how to speak a common language of developers. The presentation will cover a set of the more commonly used patterns and give situations where they are applicable.

    Presenter: Mike Levy

    Michael Levy is a software consultant with the SDS-Consulting. He specializes in application development using Microsoft SQL Server and .NET, holds multiple Microsoft certifications including MCSD .NET and MCDBA, and is a frequent contributor to various technical journals and has spoken at conferences, seminars, and user groups.

    The meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 17th at 6:00PM at Max Technical Training in Norwood.  Max Train will still be in Norwood for this meeting.

    Kforce Consulting is seeking several Microsoft .Net Developers for contract to perm positions in Cincinnati, OH.

    Job Summary:

    This person will be maintaining & supporting current .NET web applications in use throughout the corporation. In addition, this developer will be working with in-house clients to design, develop & support MS.NET web based applications.

    Responsibilities:

    Work with a team of programmers to design, develop, maintain and enhance .NET web applications utilizing Microsoft SQL Server as well as Microsoft Access


    Required Skills:

    • Strong programming skills (min. 5+ years overall software development experience)
    • Strong database skills (min. 5+ years overall using SQL server or DB2 with great proficiency in writing SQL business logic, understanding of table and index design, etc.)
    • Self starter who is clever, innovative & can be self-directed
    • Strong organization skills
    • Effective communication and good interpersonal skills
