  • September Meeting Announcement

    Custom Web Server Controls

ASP.NET provides multiple ways to develop reusable code for your User Interface. While Web User controls (ASCX controls) are easier to create, you will find it less convenient to use them in advanced situations.  This presentation will walk you through building Custom Web Server controls that are compiled and can be placed into the toolbox of your development environment and shared with other projects through the GAC.  We will cover control rendering, creating JavaScript events, handling events and control state on the server and more.

    Brian Sherwin

Brian Sherwin is the Principal Member of SureWin Solutions, LLC, a consulting and training company focused on bringing companies back to making decisions on value, not a particular technology. As a consultant for 10 years, he has worked with a number of technologies but has pitched his tent in the Microsoft camp with SQL Server and the .NET platform. Brian has been training developers in VB and C# since .NET was released into public beta in 2002.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 19th at 6:00PM at Max Technical Training.

  • Forum registration is open!

The forums section of the web site is now up.  You have to be a member of the forum to post anything, so please run through the registration process at http://cinnug.org/user/CreateUser.aspx.  We have decided to do admin approval for all registrations to help keep down the spam, which means we'd like to ask that you be very patient during the registration process.  There are only a few of us doing the approvals so it may take several hours to a day or so to get your approval back.

Please register and start sharing with the community!

  • New Site!

CINNUG.org has moved and has also been upgraded to Community Server!  James, Nino and I are talking about different ideas for the site.  Using Community Server provides us the blog (which we already had), but also a downloads section for presentation material and several other new site options.  We plan on opening up the forums section soon so that CINNUG members can get more from the group than just once a month.  We'll have a forum for suggestions, one for general talk, and of course, one to ask .Net questions in.

If you have some ideas for the site, please send them to admin <at> cinnug.org, post them here as comments, or wait till the forums start up and post them there.

Also, if you had links to the RSS feed or the site we did try to ensure that the urls would be redirected, but we may have missed something.
