Go With the Flow - Windows Workflow Foundation

In September of 2005, at the Professional Developer's Conference (PDC), Microsoft introduced Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF) as part of the WinFx set of technologies. The WWF supplies a workflow engine, developer SDK, and distributable components to allow developers to develop business and process oriented applications that can be dynamically updated and changed as the business rules do. The WWF can be used to write applications that handle business processes like expense report approval, or be used within an application to handle navigation. This presentation will be a first look at the capabilities of the WWF and the tools it provides. (Based on Beta 2 of WWF).

This presentation is the same as the one given at the Cincinnati-Dayton Area Code Camp in January. If you missed it then, catch it this time.

    Michael Wood

Michael is a Senior Consultant for Strategic Data Systems (SDS) in Centerville, OH, but lives across the river in Kentucky. He has been working in .Net since pre-Beta 2 back in 2001. He has contributed to the "Visual Studio Hacks" book from O'Reilly and has provided some articles for the Visual Studio Hacks website that will be published sometime in the future. He specializes in middle-tier and web application development/design.

The meeting is February 21st at 6:00 PM at Max Technical Training.

Visual Studio Team System Developer Edition: A Path to Higher Quality Code

Writing high quality software is hard; however, recent years have seen an influx of tools to help developers write better code. This talk is split into two segments: how to write quality software with free .NET tools (NUnit, NCover, FxCop) and how to write quality software with the new Visual Studio Team System Developer Edition.

Visual Studio Team System Developer Edition provides several tools to ensure we write quality code. Many existing tools, such as FxCop for static code analysis, are now fully integrated within VSTS Developer Edition. New tools for unit testing and code coverage have also been added. In this session, we'll see how to create and run your unit tests, how to review test coverage across test cases, as well as how to use the static code analysis tool to ensure your code conforms to design guidelines.
